Adding another notch to our GOAT restaurant scoreboard we visited Cena (pronounced chaina, meaning supper in Italian) in the Channelside District recently. Award-winning Chef Michael Buttacavoli, who earned his chops being Chef de Cuisine at Boca and SideBern’s, opened Cena in 2013.

South Tampa has a new option when it comes to breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Himes Breakfast House opened at the end of 2021 taking over the spot of the former Potbellies Family Restaurant after the proprietors decided to move to Tennessee. Shells Seafood owner John Christen purchased and rehabbed the quaint 2500 sq. ft. eatery

We continued our GOAT restaurant tour last night, this time for a very special occasion. We went to the Granddaddy of them all Bern's Steakhouse.

After months of teasing with kraft paper covering the windows, District South Kitchen and Craft opened its doors last week. I don't usually tap eateries within the first few weeks, trying to give them a chance to get on their feet. But this kitchen is captained by Cody Tiner who has been at the helm of several spots including Piquant and most recently CW Gin Joint

Mix an Asian inspired menu with a chic go-to location and you get Haiku in downtown Tampa. It has a loud, energetic vibe in it's exterior and interior bar, and a restaurant decorated with a neon and purple hues and modern furnishings
