Plant High School Chorus Showcase Ricks Café: A Stunner

The Plant High School Chorus presented their 2023 version of Rick’s Café, a 37-year-old tradition of performance for the choral group. They were also celebrating the retirement of choral director Bruce Yost. The 30-song, two-hour show showcased the Plant High chorus’s full cast and solo and group performances from remarkably talented singers and dancers. In the final song of the evening, You Will Never Walk Alone from the show Carousel, alumni chorus members were invited to join in, ending with a rousing standing ovation for the entire show.

It is hard to fathom the amount of work and time that went into presenting the show. The lights, sound, and stage were all run by students. The most remarkable part of the evening is the outstanding level of talent presented by these high schoolers. If the showcase returns next year, it is a must-see. Congratulations, Plant High School Chorus!
