St Pete Tacos and Tequila Festival Brings the Food and Fun to Vinoy Park
Tacos, tequila, and fun hats were all part of the fiesta at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg
Not even the looming threat of foul weather could keep the crowds away from the St. Pete Tacos and Tequila Festival at Vinoy Park. On Saturday, St. Petersburg’s waterfront burst to life in a lively celebration of street food, music, tequila, and high-flying action. The annual festival drew hundreds of locals and visitors alike, all eager to sample some of the region’s best tacos, sip on premium tequilas and mezcals, and soak in the party atmosphere.
A strolling mariachi band entertained the hundreds attending the festival.
Who can help but dance to such upbeat music?
The air was thick with the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling carne asada, roasted poblanos, and smoky birria as food trucks and taquerias lined the park. Festivalgoers could indulge in everything from traditional barbacoa and jerk chicken tacos to inventive vegan bites. But tacos weren’t the only attraction—desserts, barbecue, and cannabis products made the rounds at the wellness tent, adding a flavorful and modern twist to the mix.

The festival buzzed with more than just flavor. A strolling mariachi band and live music kept the beat going, while DJs kept the dance crowd moving. Meanwhile, artists brought blank canvases to life with live mural painting, and a variety of artisan vendors offered handcrafted goods, artwork, and festival merch.
One of the day’s highlights? The taco-eating contest. Five hungry contenders stepped into the wrestling ring to battle for taco supremacy, racing to devour five tacos faster than their opponents—with victory hinging not just on speed, but on keeping it all down.
